Industrial Painting

Industrial painting is a highly specialized skill, requiring specific knowledge and equipment in order to do the job safely and efficiently. Most painting contractors, such as those that do primarily residential painting, do not have the skills and resources to handle an industrial painting job. Hiring the right company is extremely important.

What kind of industrial painting jobs are we able to do? Here are a few examples:

  • Water treatment plant – This is a large industrial building with virtually all metal surfaces. All surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned prior to painting. Ceiling is 40 feet high, requiring a scissor aerial lift or a basket aerial lift.
  • Food processing plant – This job includes not only the walls and ceiling, but also the machinery itself. Due to the nature of the work done in this building, normal operations must be suspended while we perform our duties. This means that we have a very rigid time window within which we must be completely finished. The time it will take for us to complete our work will be outlined clearly when we bid for the job or provide our estimate.
  • Transportation terminals – Working in areas involving the high traffic of mass transportation is very specialized. Consider the constant activity in and around the terminals of an airport – fuel trucks, baggage trucks and trailers, maintenance vehicles, passenger shuttles, and of course the constant arrival and departure of jet airplanes. This environment requires specific knowledge and experience. We have done these jobs multiple times and can handle them efficiently and professionally.

One of our biggest considerations while painting in an industrial setting such as these is the safety of our workers (and your employees, if any are present during our work). Of course, worker safety is always an important issue on any job we undertake. However, in an industrial painting environment there are usually more situations that require extra attention to proper procedures:

  • Workers may be working around pipes that are extremely hot.
  • The nature of the location may require extensive work from great heights.
  • We may be working around materials that are flammable.
  • Water or industrial fluids such as oil or grease may create slippery surfaces.
  • Some painting may be done in areas where high-voltage wires or equipment are in use.

As professionals, we are well aware of these potential dangers and we practice the safest working procedures at all times. Our employees are professional trained to handle a wide variety of situations in order to avoid any personal injury or damage to any equipment (yours or ours).

What is your reason for having industrial painting work done? In some cases, company policy dictates that certain painting work is done on a specific schedule, and that time has come around again. In other cases, a corporate office determines the frequency of having its various plants painted. Perhaps your industry is heavily regulated, and a local or state ordinance requires painting at certain times. Or maybe as a business owner, you have decided that the building or machinery just needs some new paint to look better and improve employee morale. Whatever the reason, we are happy to discuss the specifics with you, perhaps offer some suggestions from our experience, and provide you with a free estimate. Just give us a call.
