House Painting

House painting is one of the best ways to revive your home and make it look and feel new, and in the same process protect it from the intense sun and other inclement weather conditions. If your house has not had a new coat of paint in a while, and you’re thinking about ways to spruce it up, you should consider house painting.

As experienced painters, we have devised a regular routine set of steps we follow every time a homeowner hires us to do a house painting. By using the same set of procedures each time, we are able to consistently produce a positive outcome – that’s why our customers are very happy!

When you call us to discuss this project, we will want to set up a time to come out and look at your house. Since every house is different, we need to see yours in person in order to give you an estimate in writing. You will probably come across some painters that will attempt to give an estimate just by a phone call, without ever actually seeing your home. We want to make sure that the estimate that we give you is accurate, and we feel that the best way to do that is in person. The estimate you get from us will include all details (costs, how long the job will take, etc.).

When we begin the actual house painting, the first order of business is to completely clean the exterior surface. This is important because it allows the paint to adhere well to the surface. To accomplish that cleaning, we pressure wash with hot water and a mild soap. This gives us a great surface for the paint.

As part of the surface preparation, we will also check for any problem areas. This includes damaged wood which needs to be replaced or repaired and any holes that have to be filled in. Also, old or cracked caulk is removed and those areas are redone with exterior-rated, paintable caulk.

We only use the best quality paint for our house painting jobs, and those paints are designed to adhere best to a primer. Yes, it takes us more time to first apply a primer coat, but the benefits are worth it:
  • A coat of primer means that the paint will apply in a uniform, consistent manner across the entire surface.
  • The primer is also a sealant. This means that anything foreign (water, grease, etc.) that might get on your house will only get as far as the top coat of paint – the sealant blocks it from coming into contact with the wood.
  • A primer allows quality paint to adhere extremely well to the surface. This means it will be a longer time before you will need another house painting.

Finally, we are now ready for the actual house painting. Since our crews are professional and work very efficiently, this part won’t take very much time. However, we are very careful to make sure that every spot that needs paint gets paint. Our priority is to make sure the job gets done correctly the first time. We want to be proud of the completed result, and we want you to be proud of it as well.

Let’s talk about giving your house that “new” look. Give us a call and we will be happy to come out and offer a free estimate.
